TitleLetter from the Duke of Clarence to J.W. Daniell
Date6 August 1826
WriterClarence and St Andrews, William, Duke of
AddresseeDaniell, J.W.
DescriptionWilliam acknowledges the receipt of Daniell's letters; he returns, signed the proper papers together with Mr Peacock's letter. As the hay harvest is over he thinks the good quality of hay will make up for the scarce quantity. He thinks Daniell will be able to tell when is the best time to draw in the coals; he approves of the decision of bringing the wine in the cellar in bottles and not in wood. He got news from Mereweather that the 'infatuated and unlucky' Augustus is not behaving as William wishes; he asks Daniell to keep him safe.
William will spend a little more time with his sister [Charlotte, Princess Royal], and then move to Liebenstein.
