TitleLetter from the Duke of Clarence to J.W. Daniell, written at Hanover
Date21 October 1818
WriterClarence and St Andrews, William, Duke of
AddresseeDaniell, J.W.
DescriptionWilliam expresses the desire to reduce everything (e.g. stocks, servants, in order to cut the bills) in the farm at Bushy but leaving, however, arable and grass land. In order to do this he asks Daniell to give instruction to Coates to keep only the breeding flock and send the rest for the butcher; he approves of Coates' other suggestions concerning cows and heifers. William is also concerned about: the possibility of keeping up the garden with fewer people working there; the disadvantage of the threshing machine compare to hand threshing.
