Description[Count Johann Friedrich von Kageneck is recorded as Austrian Minister in London from August 1782 to June 1786.]

The Duchess' letter to George III is lukewarm in her recommendation of the Kagenecks; she remarks that [Sir John] Stepney is popular in Berlin [as British minister to the court of Prussia], reports that the Austrian Emperor has gone to Florence to arrange a marriage, and expresses affection for Prince Frederick [son of George III], from whom she is expecting a visit.
