DescriptionThe Duke arrived in Portsmouth the previous Friday, and he has been since occupied receiving and stationing seamen and marines. There are 22 sail of the line at Spithead but they need 300 men before sailing, so they will not sail for at least a fortnight. He asks the Prince to let him know when he would like to visit Portsmouth as Barrington [Sir Jonah] wants to have time to make the due arrangements.
