| Title | Letter from the Duke of Clarence to J.W. Daniell, written in Walmer |
| Date | 4 June 1822 |
| Writer | Clarence and St Andrews, William, Duke of |
| Addressee | Daniell, J.W. |
| Description | William agrees with Elphick on the matter of "a diminution from the six shillings"; he also approves of Elphick selling wethers and buying ewes. He gives orders to kill a stall-fed venison once a week and to send half to Walmer and the other half, one week to Lord Liverpool [Robert Banks Jenkinson, 2nd Earl of Liverpool] and the other week to Lord Glasgow [George Boyle, 4th Earl of Glasgow, a Scottish peer] - if he is in London. He agrees with George [FitzClarence; see GEO/ADD/44/65] that the Upper Lodge should be kept clean and tidy - and other comments about the house and housekeepers. Despite the good weather William has been having difficulties breathing. |
