Description | Draft letter from ?Colonel Phipps to Henry Cole reporting that Prince Albert has read his report and agrees with the principle that 'works of great magnitude' will be carried out 'with grandeur and efficiency' under the agency of a private enterprise rather than government control. He also writes that Prince Albert believes he has omitted from the report the principle that a body appointed by the Government would be less efficient and bold than a public company and that the general public will be harsher in their judgment of a public body's spending, rather than that of a private company. |
