WriterBowring, Edgar
AddresseeGrey, Charles, Colonel
DescriptionLetter from Edgar Bowring to Colonel Grey in which he reports on his talk with Henry Cole to discuss his scheme and his idea to postpone releasing it to the public. He states that Cole needs more time to think about it so that he can answer any potential objections and states that at the time people are interested in news about the Crimean War, so he plans to wait to release it when it can be given full attention. He mentions other topics to be discussed at an upcoming meeting, including the plans for the National Gallery and giving publicity to Cockerell's block plans. He also mentions the application by the Academy of Music for a site and that it is still to be discussed. He also adds that there is 'unpleasant news' of the Government buying Burlington House.
