| Description | 'I shall not fail to shew the Kg Lrd Thurlows Conduct & then do as You have directed Burn the Paper...Nothing but a fair open & Honest Conduct can make one go through the Vicissitudes of Life. In an Inferior Situation there is one Advantage that if they are Accused they may defend themselves, but in a Superior this is frequently impossible, & we know by Experience that by having recourse to Men they will act according as their interest lies, Either Espouse the Cause or totally give it up. this is a Melancholy Picture of Mankind but who is there that has not felt the truth of what I say? I fear it is too General, & is one of the reasons why I am so reserved, & You my dearest Friend will after this very Severe Tryal feel how Necessary it will be for You to Check Yr openness of Character a little, as many of those You thought Yr best Friends have Certainly not proved so'; on the King; life at Frogmore/Windsor.
