Description
This account book records quarterly receipts and payments made for salaries (individuals not named); wardrobe expenses; nursery expenses; stable expenses; and to senior officials in the Queen's Household, most notably Gabriel Mathias, Clerk to the Secretary and Comptroller (later suceeded by Hugh Rowland) and J T Mathias, Clerk to Treasurer (later Vice Treasurer). Payments are also consistently made to apothecaries (named); and stationers (named). Viscountess Hampden also appears to receive an annual bounty
One-off payments to Maids of Honour on the occasion of their marriages are also recorded
Folios 36949 - 36975 contain the accounts for 1792 - 1804, folios 36976 - 36990 contain pro forma information but no account details
