Newspaper clipping on a debate in the House of Lords regarding proposed reduction of public salaries. Records Lord Brougham's speech regarding the proposed reductions and his assertion that the Queen lay before the House records of Civil List savings since 1838. Also includes a pencil annotation by Prince Albert stating that this was an attempt to raise indignation of the House against him [Prince Albert].
