Description'Eighth Report of the Commissioners on the Fine Arts, with appendix. Presented to both Houses of Parliament by Command of Her Majesty', reporting that three frescoes by John Calcott Horsley, Daniel Maclise and Charles West Cope had been finished. They had also made the decision that William Dyce would be commissioned to decorate the Queen's Robing Room with fresco-painting and that he be remunerated at the rate of £800 a year. In addition they stated that the statue of Lord Falkland, by John Bell, and the statue of Lord Clarendon, by William Calder Marshall, had been completed. The Select Committee had also recommended that an estimate of £1,600 would be required for future designs of frescoes and sculptures, plus the £800 per year to be paid to William Dyce.
