DescriptionWilliam has received Lord Mayo's letter from Berlin, and the Duchess the ones from Lady Mayo and Mrs Kirby. William reassures him that he will have the apartments ready for Lord Mayo's party arrival. The Duchess is gradually improving. He does not inquire on Lord Mayo's health but suggests he should rest more. He wished the Duchess of Cumberland were better; he is glad, on the otherhand, that the Duke [of Cumberland] does not intend to return to England yet. William sufferred an attack because of the bad weather but he thinks he might get better soon.
