William received a letter from Admiral Griffith [Edward] in Halifax mentioning the appointment of a new commander; Lord Hood should prompt Sir Thomas to contact Lord Melville [Robert Dundas, 2nd Viscount Melville].
About the Queen [Caroline Amelia Elizabeth of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel] he reports that she is 'endeavouring to do all the harm she can'
