DescriptionLord Northesk writes in reply to a letter from the Duke of Clarence concerning the election of a Scottish Peer. He confirms to have been able to vote by correspondence thanks to instructions sent by James Chalmer for Lauderdale [James Maitland, 8th Earl of Lauderdale]; Lord Leven, however, informed him that he will not vote for Lauderdale's competitor, Lord Kellie, but he will not vote against him either.
The HMS Britannia will soon be ready to sail.
