| Description | At the request of the Earl of Erroll [William Hay, 18th Earl of Erroll, Lord Steward of the Household and husband to Elizabeth, daughter of the Duke of Clarence], the Duke is forwarding an important message from the Earl [in which he declares his intention to resign as one of the King's Lords of the Bedchamber]. The Duke explains that, although as a Scotch Peer the Earl felt obliged to vote for the Corn Bill, he would always support the King on any other front. |
